HOW TO MAKE IT
- Suggested Size -
We suggest sizing the envelope liner to approximately:
7.017 x 8.255 inches
This is only a suggested size. You can resize the template as needed to fit your particular envelope.
Because envelope dimensions and flap shapes vary, we recommend checking the fit against your actual envelope before producing your full quantity.
- How to Make It -
- Upload the PNG template into Cricut Design Space or your preferred cutting-machine software.
- Resize the liner to approximately 7.017 x 8.255 inches, or adjust it to fit your envelope.
- Print a single test copy first to check the size and flap placement.
- Use Print Then Cut to print and cut the liner.
- Slide the finished liner inside your envelope and position it so the shaped top follows the envelope flap.
- Fold the liner along the envelope's existing flap crease.
- Apply a small amount of double-sided adhesive or adhesive runner near the upper portion of the liner.
-
Press the liner gently into place.
For the cleanest finish, you generally only need to secure the top portion of the liner rather than gluing the entire piece to the envelope.
- Cardstock Suggestions -
Envelope liners work best with paper that is thinner than your invitation cardstock so the finished envelope remains easy to fold and close.
Try:
- 80 lb text-weight paper for an easy-to-fold liner
- Premium matte presentation paper for rich watercolor printing
- Smooth white or warm white paper for the brightest floral colors
- Light cream paper for a softer, romantic finish
- Lightweight specialty or colored paper when using the alternative version and a compatible printing setup
Avoid very heavy cardstock for envelope liners, as it can make the envelope flap bulky and difficult to close.
- Easy Personalization with Canva -
Want to add your initials, wedding date, monogram, or text? Create your text or graphic in Canva, remove the background, download it as a transparent PNG, and upload it into your cutting-machine software. Position it over the artwork before creating your final Print & Cut file.
- Styling Ideas -
Pair your watercolor floral envelope liner with:
- Soft blue, ivory, cream, blush, sage, or butter-yellow envelopes
- Coordinating watercolor wedding invitations
- Shaped or layered invitation cards
- Vellum wraps
- Belly bands
- Silk or chiffon ribbon
- Wax seals
- Personalized envelope addressing
- Botanical postage stamps
- Natural twine for a relaxed garden-inspired look
For an especially cohesive invitation suite, use the liner as the patterned element inside a simpler solid-color envelope. It creates a beautiful reveal when guests open their invitations while allowing the floral artwork to feel intentional rather than overwhelming.
